I’m going to start off by saying I am not a cook. (It’s totally ok if you read that in a Richard Nixon voice.)
When I cook I need a recipe that is easy and contains just a couple ingredients or something I can make in 30 minutes or less.
And recently I’ve been finding more recipes for something I can throw in the Crock Pot before work and let it cook all day.
So here is a roundup of recipes for busy working moms like me.

5 Ingredients or Fewer Recipes
I’m a big fan of recipes that call for just a couple ingredients. Five tends to be my max.
Anything that contains more than five is usually too difficult for me to deal with especially when there’s a monster yelling at me from the other side of the baby gate.
I also don’t keep a lot of ingredients in my house because they’ll just go bad before I get to use them again.
So I am on board with these easy recipes.
Sloppy Joe Bowls
This is one of our FAVORITES! You can also do this with cheeseburger fixings.
Meatball Sub Bubble Bake
Another one we love. I really love meatball subs from Subway but this is a lot easier to deal with. At least for me it is!
Crockpot Ranch Chicken Tacos
Ok so if you count toppings, there are more than 5 ingredients but I love this one. Tacos are one food I could live off of completely. And the ranch added to these tacos is amazing.
Crockpot Orange Chicken
This one is super easy. You just need chicken and 3 kinds of sauce to make this. Add rice and you’ve got a 5 ingredient meal.
Corn Dog Nuggets
This is one of my go-to recipes during the week. Sometimes we’ll take full hot dogs and wrap them in croissant rolls, and it’s better than on a bun.
Bonus if you get cheese filled hot dogs!
Broccoli Cheese Soup
Broccoli cheese is probably my favorite soup. I love Panera’s Broccoli cheddar soup and this one is just as good.
Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sliders
I’m not a huge fan of buffalo wings but I really like these. I like the mix of ranch in it.
Baked Crispy Ranch Chicken
Do you sense a theme here? I love ranch and chicken. And these chicken strips bring out my inner five-year-old.
Mini Deep Dish Pizzas
I also love things you can make in muffin pans. I was in my late 20’s before I found out that muffin pans weren’t just for making muffins. I was SHOCKED.
Chicken Tortilla Bake
Doesn’t that just look delicious?
30 Minutes or Less Recipes
Cooking fast is a requirement for me set forth by the tiny overlord. She demands that dinner is in her mouth in less than 30 seconds.
Well, physics doesn’t work that way so she has to settle for less than 30 minutes.
She can be distracted by The Wiggles or Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood long enough for me to make something quickly.
Spicy Cilantro Shrimp with Honey Lime Dipping Sauce
I’m drooling over this one. The honey lime sauce is great with the shrimp.
Salsafied Chicken and Rice
This one is by one of my favorite bloggers!
Pepperoni Pizza Pull-Apart Bread
This looks so good. Toot loves pizza and bread so it’s perfect for her.
Easy Barbecue Chicken Pizza
I’m pretty sure BBQ Chicken Pizza is my favorite type of pizza (at the moment!)
Pull Apart Ham and Cheese Sliders
This is one of my favorite recipes to take to a party. We took these sliders to several family cookouts.
Tortellini in Parmesan Cream Sauce with Spinachand Sun-Dried Tomatoes
I have a love affair with tortellini.
Ultimate Nachos
Nachos are one of my favorite things to make. And these nachos are ultimate.
Cheeseburger Tortilla Skillet
I love skillet meals!
One Skillet Taco Chili Mac
There are three deliciouswords in this recipe Taco, Chili, and Mac. I love all of them!
One Pan Skinny Loaded Baked Potato Gnocchi
Gnocchiis amazing!
Throw In the Crockpot Before Work
I don’t do this often but I love doing it. I didn’t think I’d ever use the crockpot I got as a wedding gift, but here we are.
Yes, you do have to get up a little earlier to make dinner. It feels weird making dinner at 7:00 am, but it’s so worth it when you walk in the door and the house smells amazing.
Dinner is ready right when you get home, and that’s a feeling that I just love. That’s when I like to thank past-me for taking care of present-me.
Crockpot Chicken and Noodles
This recipe reminds me of something my grandma used to make.
Honey Garlic Chicken
I love honey garlic anything!
Doritos Casserole
Have you ever cooked with Doritos? Taco Bell figured out how awesome it is. Try this casserole!
Slow Cooker Nacho Chicken
I’m a big fan of Mexican and chicken. (as you can tell)
Hunter’s Stew (Venison)
If you have a hunter in your family or access to venison, this is a great recipe!
Copycat Wendy’s Chili
I LOVE WENDY’S CHILI. Copycat recipes are my favorites!
Juicy Pulled Pork Tacos
You can make tacos out of anything. Even pulled pork!
