Keeping original jellyfishes on your home is not so easy like having a fake jellyfish tank on your table. These artificial jelly tanks are cool looking and very convenient to use. If you want to get one you need to learn some basic information about these things.

Information About an Artificial Jellyfish Tank

An artificial jellyfish tank consists of a tank – big or small and some fake jellyfishes. The tank is artistically lit by colorful LED lamps. You need to put fresh water into it.

The artificial jellyfishes will float in the tank. There is fan to create flow of water inside the tank. That flow will let the jellies “swim” around the tank, just like real, alive ones. That gentle current will make them look too intriguingly real.

You need to soak your jellies in water for 24 hours before adding them to the tank. You also need to add some soap into the water. A few drops of liquid disk soap will do. It will help our tank to work smoothly. If do not add soap liquid, the jellies may stuck at the surface level of the water.

This jelly tank by Calover is quiet popular. The size of the item is 23 x 7.6 x 7.6 cm (9.2 x 3 x 3 inches). The weight of the product is about 300 gm without water.

It is better for them who love it smaller. There are two jellies in it. Like other products it also runs by 4.5 V DC power supplied by 3AA batteries. There is also a 3.2 m USB cable supplied with the item to power it from external sources.

There are three multi-colored LEDs to create the light effects. The claimed life of these bulbs is 5000 hour by the company. The wattage of the product is 2. There is a small pump underneath to make the jellies swim.

In our opinion the tank is too narrow for two jellyfishes. Sometimes, there tentacles are tangled with each other. Then you have to shake it to make them free. The product is best as a gift to someone.

How to Take Care of Artificial Jelly Tanks

Artificial jellyfish tanks have two types of electronic components – the pumps and the LED bulbs. The pumps are crucial to create artificial current. That current is responsible for fake swimming movement of the jellyfishes. To keep the pumps working for long time you need to pour the tank with good quality, clean water. My recommendation is distilled water.

If the water has suspended particles it will choke the pumps very soon. Chemicals in the water will also kill the pumps pretty soon.

After buying a tank you need to clean it at first with water. Then add distilled water in it. After that, add the artificial jellyfishes in it.
You need to add some liquid soap in the water to keep the jellies entangle free. If the jellies tentacles come in contact with each other, the slippery water will help it to be freed.

Be careful while adding the jellies in the tank. You need to make these things free from air bubble. Bubbles will disturb the “swimming”. So, you need to slowly put the jellyfish in head first. Let it sink to the bottom.
