Returning crowd favorites and new faces will be featured in the celebrity lineup for the 2024 BMW Charity Pro Am presented by TD Synnex taking place June 3-9.
The tournament will be played at Thornblade Club in Greer and The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, and a series of special events are scheduled at various locations during tournament week.
Tournament organizers announced the celebrity lineup and special events during a news conference at Hotel Hartness on May 9.
Notable names
Celebrities joining the tournament for the first time include:
- Brice Butler, former NFL wide receiver
- Ryan Leaf, former NFL quarterback
- Phillip Phillips, musician and American Idol winner
- Roger Steele, golf social media influencer
- Vince Young, College Football Hall of Fame inductee and former NFL quarterback
Among the returning celebrities are television and film actors Brian Baumgartner, who played Kevin on The Office, and Andy Buckley, who played David in the same show; world champion boxer Canelo Alvarez; Capt. Danny Brown, featured in On Patrol: Live PD; ESPN golf analyst Michael Collins; NBA guard Seth Curry; comedian and actor Larry the Cable Guy; musicians Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney, both of Rascal Flatts; MLB world champion David Wells; television and film actor D.B. Sweeney; and NHL defenseman James Wisniewski.
Special events
Special events scheduled for tournament week start June 1at 10:30 a.m. with a tournament kickoff event at Greer Golf. This will feature junior golf clinics with First Tee of the Upstate presented by Pacolet Milliken. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
Junior golf clinics continue June 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thornblade Club. Various clinics will be offered, including Spanish-speaking, ELS for Autism, and girls only. Clinics or free and open to all skill levels. Registration is required.
An evening with Phllip Phillips presented by The Johnson Group will be at Morgan Square in Spartanburg June 6 from 5 to 10 p.m. The concert is free to the public, but special access VIP tickets are available through the tournament website, bmwcharitygolf.com.
Events continue June 7, with a career fair presented by AFL at Thornblade Club from 2 to 5 p.m. A BMW 30-year anniversary concert sponsored by South Carolina Charities Inc. will start at 7:30 p.m. at Hartness in Greenville and feature Steel Toe Stiletto. Advance ticket purchase is required.
Special events conclude June 8, with military and first responders day during which everyone is encouraged to wear red, white and blue attire as a show of patriotic support.
