I have not been really present in the social media for the last few weeks. For good reasons… From Warwick, UK for the preparation of an Applied vehicle dynamics seminar to dampers and damping with R53 suspenions, I went to Chennai, India to present with Bruno Finco from Move dot (Bruno ex OptimumG enginneer who created his own company and with whom OptimumG continues to collaborate) two seminars on ISO tests and K&C. From there a two day seminar on specifc topics at Racing Bull F1, a Data Driven Performance Engineering (DDPE) seminar in Nevers, an Applied Vehicle Dynamics in Sydney, Australia, FSAE combustion car designed judging followed by an other AVD seminar in Adrian Michigan, and, lastly a DDPE at AvioRace, Italy. I am now at home for a few weeks, catching up on many tasks. Let’s go back in time from the last seminar in AvioRace in Vignola, Italy. Francesco Sedea, the always smiling and enthusiastic managing director of AvioRace has hosted several OptimumG seminars in Vignola since 2004. From an already very dynamic company manufacturing literally a few thousands looms for racecar (including F1) and motorbikes, Aviorace is now also working in drones and aerospace as well as sevreal industries selling and supporting looms, sensorts and software. Note: Aviorace is not too far from Maranello and Modena with some good Ferrari exhibitions ! We had a small group with an Akkodis consultant engineer resident at Lamborghini, Vehicle test engineer consultant at Ferrari S.p.A, a freelance consultant in LMP and different Formula, a Vehicle Dynamics Virtual Analysis Engineer at Stellantis, two engineers from J.A.S Motorsport., a formula E data engineer, a PhD in Vehicle dynamics, two students from ZHAW Winterthur, one from Hochschule Konstanz.E.C: “Absolutely top-notch and able to teach not only technical aspects but to become even more passionate about what we like to do. This allows for a wide vision as well as knowledge. Everything learned has given me insights that I have already begun to apply. I will definitely need to improve but now I am even more aware of the value. Think out of the box!” Pictures of the group, group exercises, and dinner (from appetizers to desert, and of course wines, you can’t be wrong with meals in Italy!)

Merci Jocelyne, merci Gilles!

R53 Suspension and OptimumG to collaborate Claude Rouelle, OptimumG President, and Elias Fadel, OptimumG Vehicle Dynamics engineer visited R53 Suspension in Warwick, UK and had several meetings with Roger Estrada, Founder and Managing Director of R53 Suspension and Diego Lopez, Head of engineering.Roger Estrada; “Dampers play a crucial role in vehicle dynamics, connecting various elements to enhance performance, whether it's a passenger car or a race car. After attending OptimumG seminars, it became evident that their extensive expertise and vision align well with our values at R53. Collaborating to share our combined knowledge within the automotive community is a natural progression for both companies. We're excited to partner with Optimum G at R53” Claude Rouelle: “Whether it is about passengers’ or race cars, we live in a world of hyper specialization. Only a few engineers can connect the dots to reach vehicle performance targets. In OptimumG seminars and during our consulting activities, we share our knowledge and experience. In fact, our motto is Knowledge shared is knowledge2. When I met Roger and Luis in previous OptimumG seminars, and again recently at the Birmingham Autosport show, I sensed synergy possibilities. R53 have an amazing knowledge and experience in dampers. Their quickly expanding number of customers proves it. With OptimumG vehicle dynamics expertise, our simulations tools and experience in data analysis, we think both companies are complementary; we have a lot to gain in information and knowledge sharing for the benefit of our customers” The first step of a collaboration will be a common vehicle dynamics seminar centered on damper technology and dampers tuning, in the fall of 2024. Stay tune! More to come soon.

This is nearly 10 years old but the message is the same todayA poem in a form of a video that explains what Formula Student is, this one was made by Formula Student Germany.I have many friends who are not engineers and not necessarily car fans who do not understand what my job in vehicle dynamics and race car engineering is, and why I attend several Formula Student competitions as a design judge every year.I show them this video and they get it.I believe that Formula SAE / Formula Student is one of the best engineering schools in the world. It is about learning by doing, but at the end it is much more about emotion than roll centers and yaw inertia... https://lnkd.in/dqipcdHV

SYDNEY APRIL 26TH TO 29TH.OPTIMUMG APPLIED VEHICLE DYNAMICS TO CAR CONCEPT, SIMULATION, DESIGN, TESTING AND DEVELOPMENT. THIS FRIDAY, APRIL 12 WILL BE THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER TO BENEFIT FROM REDUCED PRICES. What can you get from these 40+ years of vehicle dynamics and race car engineering experience shared in 4 days? Testimonials from recent OptimumG AVD seminar. F. O. (F1 tire engineer): “It exceeded my expectations. I was looking to attend this seminar for years and due to the calendar at work and so on, it was not possible until now. I knew what OptimumG was about, but was not expecting the quality of the seminar, how deep into the topic goes with examples and graphs and how easy Claude talks and explains a very complex topic apart from his human quality. Initially the price is a barrier if the company is not paying for it. Once you do it, is worth it the price” D.D (Performance engineer)”Claude's explanation was very good. The atmosphere with other attendees was also really good too. The diversity of the topics (tires, aero etc) and the time spent on each topic was good. When something was unclear, Claude took plenty of time to elaborate.” V.B. (Student): “It was very physically demanding, but not mentally! Thanks to Claude's very good explanations, every new information was very gratifying to hear. The atmosphere was also very pleasant. As a FS team member, I must say, that the amount of gained knowledge was so vast, that it was the most worth it thing I've ever done in my life! Quantity? A lot! It will take some time before I can soak up all the information presented to us at the seminar, but I can easily go back, read it as many times as I want, which is the greatest benefit of the binders. Without them, I would have inevitably lost the overall picture in a matter of a few weeks. Thank you for providing them!Quality? Extraordinary! As we don't learn Vehicle Dynamics at school, nor do we have anyone who could properly teach us, our only option was to read books about vehicle dynamics. Some things just can't be taught only by books. With the explanations and examples from reality, this seminar heavily elevated our knowledge about VD.”
