After two years of living full-time in this covered 22-foot dual axle trailer, it’s time to sell my 1990 Fleetwood Prowler Lynx. It’s hard to say goodbye but getting engaged means needing a bigger space. This trailer is ready for full-time living with a refinished roof, composting toilet, on-demand water heater (endless hot showers), three new fan vents, weatherproofed/winterized, and on and on. I love this tiny house and have happily called it home these past couple of years. It came with a lot of renovations and I’ve continued many of them. The interior has had some beautiful cosmetic updates including new paints, upholstery, trim, faucets, and many other little design surprises. I’ve also had some professional work done on the utilities and I’ve bought MANY extras that are included (listed below).

I purchased this trailer from someone here in Oregon in the Fall of 2022. He had bought it from the original owner and was planning to travel around with his wife, but then they had two kids and it ended up in his garage. Between the three owners, this trailer has seen a lot of love. It comes with tons of the original paperwork that’s cool to see (and useful). There are also the bills of purchases so you know it’s all above board. One thing to note is that the tags are from Washington State. Since I was stationary, I didn’t bother taking it to the Oregon DMV to change this, but if you care to just remember that you have to take it in in-person to switch over to Oregon.

I spent a lot of time before purchasing this and met many sketchy owners who tried to lie away mold smells, or got angry when I asked too many questions. The RV community is wonderful, but the RV sales side is a little less so. At the end of the day what I can say is that I’d confidently sell this trailer to my friend or to someone from the internet. Is it perfect? No. Are any of us? Nah. But most importantly there are no leaks, and no mold! I know this because I live here (and have had two dehumidifiers running 24/7).

I'm sad to see this trailer go go. I’ve had a great time living here and am hoping to pass this on to someone who enjoys this lifestyle as much as me. The big takeaways are that the trailer is dry, comfortable, and feels like home. Of course, there are all the things you’d expect like a working stove, oven, microwave, sinks, toilet, shower, CO2 and fire detectors, heat, refrigerator, etc. But It’s also just a stylish apartment with a ridiculous amount of storage that all your friends will be jealous of.

Renovations:
- In the past someone insulated the bottom of the trailer and added new wood to the roof framing.
- The trailer comes with a $1,100 Airhead composting toilet and an extra liquids container. If you have questions about this I’m happy to answer them. Long story short, it’s amazing to not have to deal with sewage. The composting toilet works great and there’s no smell. The only annoying part is emptying the liquid tank each week.
- In the last four months, I have paid about $2,000 for a professional RV serviceman to wire in the three new vents, install the instant water heater, fix a small propane leak, install a new kitchen faucet, and tend to a few other small projects.
- Beautifully designed interior including new paint and upholstery, plus original retro hardware.
- Upgraded closet space.

Some things to note:
- Nonsmoking, pet-free home.
- The wheels are on pavers, I can move the the rig out to the street but I'm not able to provide delivery.
- The trailer has been mostly covered since I’ve owned it. I build a structure that protects the roof from debris as well as rain and snow.
- I removed the propane heater! It was a drag, wasted money, and didn’t work great. All the vents and ductwork are still there, but it just wasn’t necessary. Instead, I use a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/Smart heater that’s included and is timed to turn on before I wake up and/or if it hits a certain temperature. Adding a propane heater back in is simple, but I recommend sticking with the electric.
- Same story with the refrigerator (but it was removed before me). The back panel has been insulated and there’s now an electric fridge in its place – 100x simpler.

What needs work:
Living in a trailer takes some work. There is probably always something that will need to be done. I am happy with how the trailer is now and probably wouldn’t work on any of these things if I were continuing to live here. But if you’re striving for perfection, these were the same things that needed work when I bought the trailer:
- Some of the door trim needs to be finished. The previous owner added this beautiful wood-stained trim around the doors and windows. I was too lazy to finish it.
- Some tiny spots and corners need paint touch-ups. The trailer comes with the original paint so it wouldn’t take long at all but again… lazy.
- It's a little hard to explain but there’s a quirk with the front step into the trailer. It needs to be supported by a small jack. I guess some water got onto the plank long ago so you could either replace that piece of wood, keep the jack in place, or take the step off and use an external step. It’ll make more sense in person but they’re all easy options.
- The back door. This is the biggest bump in the road. Before I bought the trailer water got into the door itself and some of the wood rotted. It didn’t get into the walls of the trailer, just the door. So when I bought it the last owner told me to get a new door or don’t use this one. I didn’t find two doors on a trailer to be necessary so I’ve just left it. You could still open the back door in an emergency, and I use the area as a storage place for my luggage and books. The repair man said that it’s not too difficult of a fix if you know some basic woodworking and have a saw/some plywood. But again, it just didn’t feel worth it to me so I’ve left it as is.
