Every bikemaker has carved a niche for itself. Ducati makes epic track-taming sports bikes, Honda is known for its bang-for-buck offerings, and Harley-Davidson excels at big, burly cruisers. Likewise, KTM’s niche is naked bikes. It has an extensive Duke lineup for you to enjoy, comprising bikes as small as 125cc and as large as 1,350cc.
No, we’re not saying its assortment of dirt bikes, supermotos, sports bikes, and full-sized premium adventure bikes is bad. But just that KTM’s naked bikes are probably the most popular among its lineup. So when we started researching the most expensive KTM bike in 2024, we weren’t surprised the title went to one of the Dukes. Not just any Duke, but KTM’s biggest and baddest Duke in its 90-year-long legacy. You already know the bike in context, so let’s just jump in.

Most Expensive KTM Motorcycle In 2024: 1390 Super Duke R Evo
The most expensive KTM in America in 2024 is the all-new 1390 Super Duke R Evo. It’s priced at $21,499, which is $500 more than the second most expensive bike (the 1290 Super Adventure). You get two color options to pick from: Orange and Black. The former wraps the motorcycle in an orange livery, complete with deep orange graphics. Whereas, the latter has a black finish, topped with orange accents on the tank. The trellis chassis is powder coated to orange on both options.

So what’s on offer for the money? For starters, KTM’s biggest V-twin engine yet. The new Super Duke is powered by the new 1,350cc V-twin engine. This is an updated version of KTM’s previous 1,301cc LC8 engine, armed with a bigger 110 mm bore length. Another new element is the cam shift technology integrated into the cylinders, ensuring a broad spread of power throughout the rev range. This, along with a few other internal updates, ensures an output of 187 horsepower and 107 pound-feet–10 and 4 up from the 1290 Super Duke. More importantly, the bump in power gives the bike a much better fighting chance against the aforementioned rivals.

Power side, KTM has armed the 1390 Super Duke with an extensive electronic package to keep you upright. The standard bits include:
- Five riding modes
- Traction control
- Cornering ABS
- Wheelie control
- Cruise control
- Launch control
All these are accessed via a new five-inch TFT instrument cluster while being partnered with smartphone connectivity, a USB type-C port, track layout/timer, and all LED lights. A special mention goes to the new ‘smart’ headlight. KTM claims it auto-adjusts in intensity according to ambient light conditions thanks to a light sensor integrated into the dashboard.

Like the engine, the suspension is pretty stellar, too. The Super Duke is built around an updated chrome-moly tubular trellis frame, paired with a bespoke cast subframe. This is topped by WP Apex 48 mm USD forks and WP Apex monoshock, both with the latest generation of WP Semi-Active Technology (SAT).
KTM explains:
It features electronically controlled magnetic valves for variable damping, providing a wide range of adjustability – from maximum comfort to track-ready stiffness. The SCU (Suspension Control Unit) adapts the damping rates via the magnetic valves in real-time, reading the road surface and rider style to automatically adjust the suspension on the fly.
Rounding off the package are top-shelf brakes and wheels. The former comprises two 320 mm front disc brakes (with Brembo Stylema calipers) and a single 240 mm rear disc (with a two-piston Brembo caliper). Whereas, the latter boasts 17-inch cast aluminum wheels shod with Michelin Power GP rubber. Other nitty-gritty details are in the table below:

Finally, there’s the new design. From head to toe, KTM has tweaked all aesthetic elements over the previous Super Duke. The most talked-about element is the alien-like fascia, which comprises boomerang-shaped DRLs and vertically stacked projectors. It’s surely aggressive and stand out, but whether it’s likable has had some divided opinions worldwide.
KTM defines the Super Duke’s design as:
THE BEAST has undergone a striking aposematic evolution, sending a clear warning message to anyone brave enough to take it on. An all-new LED headlight unit dominates, with new tank spoilers and added winglets making it known that it is not to be messed with. The KTM 1390 SUPER DUKE R looks more muscular and aggressive than ever before. In short, KTM upped the attitude, by lowering the altitude.
Complementing the fascia is a new tank that’s visibly and literally bigger than before. It joins hands with uber-muscular plastic shrouds and integrated winglets right near the radiator. This integrates with a reshaped saddle, which, in turn, paves the way for a sleeker-than-ever tail section. We dig the integrated three-in-one LED turn signals here.
