Unable to get on net and other problems

Ok, everytime I reboot the machine, or shut the computer off, I'm unable to connect to the internet or anything. I'd get a 192 ip and I have to shut off the cable modem, reboot the machine, and I'd get a regular 65.30.xx ip. I'm also using zonealarm and it's set at high but it's not zonealarm doing this. So I call Cox's tech support and they have a recorded message stating what state the network is in, well, it's operating normally.

Here's an tweak test and here's line quality test taken today and here's a line quality test taken last Saturday. The one taken today indictates a problem on Cox's end because I'm getting 2% packet loss from Cox's Ks router to the West Coast. Also here's an speed test and peak time is all day on the weekends. You've to wait until 2 or 3am to get good speeds.

The point I'm trying to make is it isn't my end, it's on Cox's. Oh, btw, I'm going to be converted to Cox HSI in a few weeks, I figure around May 7. I'm not sure though, the only thing I got out of Cox from an email is to wait for a conversion box to come in the coming weeks. The conversion box is going to come with an user manual, professional letter with authenication number, cd, "share with the happiness" coupons, and I think that's it. I'm tweaked well on my end, I hope cox fix this!!!!! If this is a part of the new network Cox is going to force on me, I think it should be better for me to check into DSL from SouthWestern Bell, and I'm not far from the CO, I'm like around 3,000 ft. If Cox doesn't fix this by July, I'm getting DSL service.

2% packet loss isn't gonna stop you from pulling an IP. Are you on CoxExpress right now? What are your caps?

And from your line test it doesn't even look like those routers are Cox's.

A little more info please.

Also what OS is this? Without rebooting have you simply tried WInipconfig to release and renew your IP? Are you leasing your modem?

If you don't get your kit and your currently being billed by COX this is how you can found out your conversion number. »Re: What is the 12 digit auth code?????

Ok, I'm on Cox Roadrunner right now. The caps are 3000/256. The OS is Windows XP Home Edition. I tried ipconfig and that works sometimes. I just brought my own cable modem back in November 2001, a Dlink DCM100. I don't have my kit yet but how do I get converted to Cox HSI right now? What's the website I go to?

Now that I read through it I can't find the conversion section anymore. There use to be a popup box that you would click on.

Also, looking through the newsgroups I have seen some COX Kansas ones popup. Central, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, and just Kansas. Oh, there is also a Roadrunner conversion group.

I can't find the conversion site. I guess the box should be coming in the next week or so, I just have to wait for it to come.

I would know the address if I didn't just throw away the little tool box a couple of days ago. They also might not be totally ready in your area yet.

BTW: Nice sig, I was out of work for about 6 months. Unable to get on net and other problems - Cox (12)

Thanks for the sig. The box should be coming in the next week or so. As for the sig, I just did the sig because I was bored. As for work, I have been out of work for 2 months now and it's hard, plus it's getting boring at home, and I haven't find nothing since:(

Are you folks looking for http://members.cox.net/ ? That's where we @Homers went to enter the authentication code.
Going there now, though, redirects you to http://support.cox.net/custsup/index.shtml where, at the top, are two links for customers about to be transitioned. It looks like they aren't ready yet, or have changed things around.
Ad astra per aspera.

Looks like they aren't ready yet for Cox Roadrunner subscribers. Maybe check in the next week or so.

Remember all the Auth code and transition is for is Email and passwords.... The actual transition to the HSI network will be seamless...... U don't go to a webpage to do that.....
